Estania

Estania couldn’t believe she had not allowed herself to form over the near decade it had been. It felt so natural, so right to be in her wolf form, she was afraid that she would not want to return to her regular self when the time came. Fear and anger had kicked in as she had watched the dark wolf threaten to attack Dane, and she had her protective instinct take over. With Jax’s words dancing through her mind, she had felt herself light on her feet, felt herself jumping that stream. It hadn’t hurt; to form. It had almost felt as though head to toe, pins and needles had set in, and then, nothing, she had opened her eyes and lunged, not even thinking of her own safety, at the wolf.

Now, she watched as Dane and Jax formed, averting her eyes when they removed their clothing, she looked around for her own shredded clothes, feeling shame creep up on her at the thought that she may have to form back without any clothes on. But she could not see any remains of her clothes, intact or not. Puzzled, she looked to Aspen, who merely tapped his forehead with one finger.

He was a very strange and eccentric man, but Estania liked him. She admired the powers he had, and she knew that if this were any other time, she may have liked to have taken the time to hear stories of the past and his knowledge that seemed beyond what she could imagine. She had never heard of an Entrass room and she had never known there to be warlocks that lived past the lifespan of an average human.

Dane and Jax flanked her on either side, all of them awaiting Aspen to speak, Estania was smaller than the two of them when they stood either side of her. She felt unsure of what Aspen had planned. If she was put to the test against two experienced bigger wolves, she wasn’t sure she was going to come out on top against Dane and Jax.

“When I say go, you shall go.” Aspen clapped his hands, excitedly rubbing them together.

“There.”

Aspen pointed far in the distance, and with her new vision, she could see exactly where he was pointing. Far away, was a large oak tree clearly marked. It was the only tree to be seen, so it was an obvious point.

“And go!”

Aspen didn’t even look to them as he said it, didn’t raise his tone. It threw Estania off and she hesitated, expecting a more exciting commencement. She felt the brothers rush out before her and felt the wind and dirt they kicked up in her face, and she flung herself forward. She had no idea how she was going to catch up, they seemed to have already made tracks far ahead of her.

Running had always come naturally to her, but as a wolf, it was as if it was her sole purpose for living. She lifted her head, forgetting the competition, feeling free and exhilarated, only sensing the wind flowing around her.
